On Eurozone pressure, PSI, the cost of illegal immigrants and riot damage : Huge costs of illegal immigrants

I continue to disagree with the comments from Mr. Salamouras about illegal immigrants and asylum seekers. Firstly it has to be stated that asylum seekers are not illegal immigrants. The right of asylum is one of the biggest achievements in modern societies and has saved the life of millions that were oppressed, tortured or had to leave their countries due to war. Karolos Papoulias is one of the best examples within Greece for what “asylum” can be good for. Secondly, we have already found out in some of the past comments that the amount of people that claim “asylum” in Greece is rather small (around 10,000/year). I would agree that the protection of European borders should be a common European task as well as that “asylum seekers” should be equally distributed within Europe.
