Migrant hands reach parliament

Deputy interior and labour ministers in parliament on May 8 struggled to answer questions tabled by opposition lawmakers about the measures taken by the government to address the plight of thousands of immigrant farm hands in Nea Manolada, a town on the outskirts of Ileia, in the Peloponnese, which produces 90 percent of the country's strawberry output. But their testimony may have been as important for what they didn't say as for what they did.
