Athens mayor calls for reform in prostitution laws

Athens Mayor Yiorgos Kaminis is calling for the reform of prostitution laws, after a much-delayed crackdown on illegal brothels in central Athens, generated a public scare over the increase of Aids cases. "The daily revelations regarding conditions at brothels raise in a dramatic way the need for realistic and legal treatment of their operating conditions," a statement from Kaminis' office said.
