Addressing a meeting of the EU Justice and Home Affairs ministers' council meeting in Luxembourg on Thursday, Greece's Citizen Protection Minister Mihalis Chrysohoidis repeated a call for full implementation of a treaty for the readmission of immigrants between the EU and Turkey. The meeting focused on the humanitarian crisis unfolding along the Greek-Turkish border as a result of illegal migrants using Turkey as a transit country to reach the European Union.
