Police deny that Turk soldiers took aim at border guards

The Greek police vehemently denied claims by the far-right Golden Dawn party that Turkish soldiers drew their guns on Greek border guards who were trying to prevent a group of illegal immigrants crossing into Greece this week. “No such incident has been reported by our officers,” a police spokesman told Kathimerini on Friday. Greece has recently beefed up its police presence on the Evros border with Turkey.
