Two people were injured and 42 were detained after rightwing extremists attacked foreigners around 10pm on Saturday, at Omonia metro station. The detainees were released a few hours later.  

The clashes followed a march commemorating the 1996 Imia incident which was organised by the so-called National Remembrance Committee, comprising of extreme rightwing groups.
