Illegal trade

Sales from illegal trade amount to 1.2 billion euros annually, or about 30 percent of total trade, according to Sotiris Magopoulos, president of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Artisans and Merchants. Magopoulos said small and medium-sized enterprises are facing problems even of survival because of illegal trade and called for a crackdown by authorities.
