Wiped off US black list
The United States Congress will remove Greece from a list of countries that have done very little to fight human trafficking. In a White House announcement issued on September 10, US President George W Bush said his administration recognised that Greece and nine other countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Dominican Republic, Georgia, Haiti, Belize, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Surinam) have taken measures to deal with this problem. Greece was put on a US State Department black list issued in June.
