Immigrants end Crete hunger strike

Some 50 people being held in police detention in Iraklio, on the island of Crete, have ended a hunger strike that began on Saturday. The detainees, mostly immigrants from North Africa, accused police of keeping them in harsh conditions. The strike was backed by a Greek activist group, called the United Movement Against Racism and the Fascist Threat.
