Coast guard nabs illegal visitors on islands of Oinouses, Samos

The coast guard detained on Saturday 18 illegal immigrants, all males, off the islet of Oinouses, close to Chios. The immigrants were traveling in a wooden boat that had run aground after it started to take in water, authorities said. Separately, 12 illegal immigrants were spotted on the island of Samos on Saturday. The immigrants, including two women and four children, had crossed over into Greece from Turkey, according to the Merchant Marine Ministry. They were all taken to a local hospital for medical examinations.
