UNHCR seeks improved policy for asylum seekers

One sometimes gets the impression that the last real refugees, persecuted, weakened and exhausted, to reach Greece were the victims of the 1922 catastrophe in Asia Minor. Since then, our country has been behaving as if there are no refugees in the world, as if all those who illegally cross the Greek borders are economic migrants, if not smugglers or criminals.
