Abduction

Police said yesterday that they had arrested two Albanian nationals and a 33-year-old Greek man believed to have abducted a 41-year-old Albanian beekeeper and a 70-year-old compatriot and to have swindled them of 14,500 euros. According to officers, the suspects arranged a meeting with the beekeeper, pretending to be interested in buying honey in bulk, but then abducted the 41-year-old along with a 70-year-old man who was with him at the time. The suspects only released the pair after receiving the 14,500 euros in cash as a ransom payment. The alleged victims then contacted the police.
