Kazakh hit bank three times
A 32-year-old Kazakh national arrested on Friday after attempting to rob a bank in Piraeus, following a three-hour standoff with police in a warehouse, has raided the same branch of Millennium Bank in the past two years, police revealed yesterday. The suspect, who was given the weekend to prepare his defense before an investigating magistrate, had robbed the branch in March last year and December 2007, police said. The 32-year-old had reportedly rented a street kiosk opposite the bank to observe comings and goings and had left his wife in charge on the two occasions he decided to rob the bank, police sources added.
